Your Comfort, Your Boundaries

Birth is intimate and your comfort matters. My role is to document your experience in a way that feels safe, respectful, and aligned with your comfort level. Before your birth, we’ll talk through your preferences so I understand exactly what you’re comfortable with and what you’d prefer not to have photographed.

Whether you want every raw and real moment captured, or you’d like me to avoid more intimate angles, I will always honour your boundaries. Some families feel empowered by seeing the full unfolding of birth, while others prefer a more modest, documentary-style approach. There is no right or wrong, only what feels right for you.

My goal is to quietly and respectfully capture your story while honouring your boundaries, your space, and the atmosphere you want during birth. Your images should feel empowering, true to you, and created with care.

Privacy and Consent

There are certain moments I don’t photograph, so you can feel secure and in control throughout the process.

Private medical procedures: I won’t capture any internal or invasive procedures, keeping the focus on your experience in a way that feels respectful.

Staff and others present: I avoid photographing identifiable faces of medical staff or other people without their permission, so everyone’s privacy is protected.

Sharing images publicly: Nothing will ever be shared online or elsewhere without your explicit consent. You are in full control of what is shared and what remains private.

These boundaries are in place to give you peace of mind, while still preserving the beauty, strength, and emotion of your birth journey. I’m here to document the moments that matter to you, in the way that feels right for you.
